  NHA TRANG – CENTRAL HIGHLAND – NHA TRANG ( 3 DAYS / 2 NIGHTS ) ( code 201 )

Day 1 : NHA TRANG – BUON MA THUOT ~ 200 KM (8:30 – 17:00)

Our guides will meet and have a short orientation talk about our itinerary and getting out of busy Nha Trang. After getting out of the city we will visit the Fish Market Dock and Fishing village nearby. You will learn something of the fisherman’s way of life. We then continue to travel along the country side road, stopping briefly at a sugar cane field where your guide will explain how a sugar cane field operates. We then stop for a rest at a local hillside coffee shop where you can enjoy some coffee or cold drinks before we continue our journey. after that, we will stop over at Phoenix/Phuong Hoang pass to explain a little historical information about the region, and also for taking pictures of the beautiful panorama. We then continue riding along the mountain road towards Buon Ma Thuot. After stopping for lunch, we visit a cashew factory (seasonal), rubber and cacao plantations, before finally arriving in Buon Ma Thuot at the end of our first day around 5pm. Overnight at Eden hotel.

Day 2 : BUON MA THUOT – LAK LAKE ~ 120 KM (8:30 – 16:30)

Departing Buon Ma Thuot at 8:30am, we ride down rural roads to see inscence making and noodle villages  then visit the Draynur waterfall, then ride through a tropical forest and take a swim in the ‘Fairy pool’. We take some time to relax and have a picnic by the pond . After lunch heading to Lak lake, we ride down rural roads and dirt trails, and cross the river by small ferry. Arriving at Lak Lake, spend the night in Van Long Resort (2 star) or long house of M’nong ethnic minority by the lake. After dinner, experience a Special Ethnic Music festival, drink jar-wine in the traditional way and enjoy dancing with M’nong ethnic minority (seasonal).

Day 3 : LAK LAKE – DALAT ~ 160 KM (8:30 – 17:00)

Before departing Lak Lake for Dalat, we will visit the local tribe and learn about their customs and culture and see how they make their living. You also may choose to ride an elephant here to explore the area and  get some great photos of the fishermen. The cost for elephant riding should you choose it is additional. Leaving Lak lake, we ride up winding mountain roads, stopping at Nam Ka lake to see a majestic floating village. From there ride several kilometers and see a silk cocoon house, bamboo bridge and then stop for lunch. After lunch, we continue towards Dalat, stopping at Elephant waterfall and a silk factory. Other stops are to taste some world famous Kopi Luwak/ weasel coffee and to see how the local rice vodka is distilled. Nearing Dalat we stop to visit flower and vegetable farms. Tour ends at the beautiful city of Dalat around 5pm. Stay overnight at Dalat.

Nha Trang – Central Highland – Hoi An along the Ho Chi Minh Trail ( 6 days ) ( code 202 )

Day 1 : NHA TRANG – DALAT ~ 150 KM (8:30 – 17:00)

Your guides will pick you up from your hotel. On the way, we’ll visit local villages to see the the lifestyle. You will go cross the river on a wooden bridge made by the local people and stop at a rice paddy field where your guide will explain its operation. You will See how villagers weave mats, make chopsticks, bind the traditional palm-leaf conical hats (Non La), and manufacture rice paper and noodles. From here we continue on highway 723 to see sugar cane being grown and harvested, and we will enjoy fresh sugar cane. Onwards we visit a Raglai village where you will learn about the customs and traditions of these minority people. From here we ride into the mountains to an approximate height of 1500 meters. The cool mountain air will invigorate you and don’t forget to take photographs along the way. You will ride through many coffee plantations and learn about the cultivation and production of the crop. In Dalat we explain to you why this city is considered the honeymoon capital of Vietnam as well as showing you the French influence which results in the title of  “The Small Paris”. You will get the chance to explore some of the thousands of greenhouses that line the hills growing beautiful flowers and vegetables. You will also see the Dragon pagoda, truly an amazing sight, and stay overnight at Dalat.

Day 2 : DALAT – LAK LAKE ~ 160 KM (8:30 – 17:00)

Before leaving Dalat for Lak Lake we visit after visit Crazy House, which features some unique architecture of Dalat. From there we continue to visit  weasel/ Civet coffee farm and try some world famous coffee. We then head to Elephant waterfall and  a silk factory, stopping by a place where they process rice vodka.  We ride on to Lak Lake along Highway 27, a winding mountain road and one of the most beautiful roads in the Central Highland. At lunch we try some different dishes of Vietnamese cuisine. From there we ride several kilometers to visit a  silk cocoon house and a bamboo bridge and then stop at Nam Ka hydro lake to see a majestic floating village. Our overnight stop is at Lak Lake in Van Long Resort (2 star) or atthe long house of M’nong ethnic minority by the lake. After dinner, experience a Special Ethnic Music festival, drink jar-wine in the traditional way and go dancing with M’nong ethnic minority (seasonal).

Day 3 : LAK LAKE – DRAYNUR WATERFALL – BUON MA THUOT ~ 120 KM (9:30 – 17:00)

Before we depart Lak Lake, we’ll learn about the daily life of M’nong ethnic minority. There is also the opportunity to ride an elephant to explore the area or take a wooden boat trip around the lake to and take some great photos of the fishermen. The wooden boat trip and elephant riding are optional activities at additional cost. We could trek to the top of the Elephant Rock mountain to enjoy the panoramic view of the area. We then travel to Draynur waterfall (the biggest waterfall in Vietnam) where you can swim or dip your body into the Fairy Pool next to the waterfall, a wonderful experience after a hot day traveling. Lunch is at local restaurant, After lunch head to Buon Ma Thuot city and overnight at Eden 2 star hotel.

Day 4 BUON MA THUOT – KON TUM ~ 280 KM (8:00 – 17:00)

Starting at 8:30, Driving out of the capital of the Central Highlands, travel on the old Ho Chi Minh trail to learn more about the history of Vietnamese people during the French colony and the Civil War, the daily life of highlanders who live along the roads to learn how they make rice paper, noodles. Stop at the tribal village of Ede and see the long stilted houses. Learn their culture and customs. After we will stop for lunch. Then see a rubber, cashew and black pepper plantations. Head to Pleiku City famous for it’s war history of the Vietnamese conflict. Then Sea Lake ( Which used to be a volcanic crater that stopped working a million years ago). Continue on to a green tea plantation. Stay overnight in Kon Tum.

Day 5: KON TUM – KHAM DUC ~ 170 KM (8:30 – 17:00)

Before leaving Kon Tum for Kham Duc, we further explore Kon Tum and visit an old wooden church, the local orphanage, the suspension bridge and see the Bana tribal village featuring the very unique architecture of the tall community meeting hall. Ride to the Dakto battle field to see remnants of the US war and then on to Phoenix and Charlie hill. Stop at the Indochina triangle (border of Cambodia, Lao and Vietnam) to have lunch and learn more about the history of the region. Continue traveling on the Ho Chi Minh trail, where you’ll have the opportunity to learn more about the different cultures of Ch’ru, Bana, and Thai tribes, some of the 54 different ethnic minorities in Viet Nam. Stay overnight at Kham Duc town, surrounded by mountains and jungle.

DAY 6 : KHAM DUC – HOI AN ~ 161 KM (8:30 – 17:00)

Before leaving Kham Duc for Hoi An we visiting the local market of this mountain town to learn more about the rural life of the highlanders as well as other ethnic minorities. Following the Ho Chi Minh trail we stop at a waterfall next to the road where you can swim and enjoy a water massage from the waterfall. Visit Thanh My, an area heavily bombed by the Americans to prevent movements of the VC along the Ho Chi Minh Trail. Stop at a pineapple plantation where we can rest and enjoy some fresh pineapple. On the way to Hoi An, we’ll stop over at the marvelous Truong Son Mountain and 11th century Champa Tower. Arrive in Hoi An around 4:30pm to 5:00pm. Tour end.
